Luxury Retreat in the Lanzarote, Canary Islands
We’ve planned a sunny yoga retreat – this time in the Canary Islands in Spain, on the lovely island of Lanzarote, with sunshine and warm weather year-round.
We’ll stay at a wonderful 5* hotel right on the coast, with yoga classes outdoors facing the ocean, fresh air, and delicious healthy food. You can eat and drink what you like, no rules and no schedules. And plenty of time to relax with lots of sunshine to get you through the winter.
We’ll practice yoga twice a day with lovely ocean views, and our yoga classes are suitable for all levels. We often have people joining us on their own, and two of us from Yoga Escapes will be there with the group to plan day trips and dinners.
Liz Joubert will teach an invigorating Vinyasa flow yoga class in the morning and a restorative Yin yoga class in the afternoon, and all yoga levels are welcome, even beginners.
It's warm and sunny in Lanzarote in February – if you're looking for a break from the winter, fantastic yoga by the ocean, and a little bit of 5* pampering, then come along and we'll take care of all the logistics, so you can relax and enjoy a real break.

We’ll offer two yoga classes a day – a 1.5 hour Vinyasa flow class in the morning and a one hour Yin yoga class at sunset. The morning classes are quite active, while the evening classes are more restorative. holding poses longer to allow for a deeper stretch, ending with a longer relaxation. All the classes will be held outdoors just steps from the ocean in a gorgeous setting, and all yoga levels are welcome, even beginners.
Liz Joubert is our teacher. Liz’s classes are dynamic, fun, and inspired by her own approach as a student of yoga – constantly learning from those around her, allowing for growth, healing and finding a true sense of self. Her Vinyasa flow classes are strong and invigorating, but always allowing modifications for all yoga levels. Her Yin classes are soothing and calming, with a deep introspective energy. Liz has a wonderful open outlook on life and loves to travel and share her adventures and stories with other yogis on retreats.
We are hosting our yoga retreat at a 5* luxury hotel, located right by the ocean near the lovely marina of Puerto Calero. It has panoramic ocean views surrounded by lush landscaped gardens. There are four outdoor pools (some heated) as well as an indoor heated one – your choice!
All the rooms are modern and decorated with great attention to detail – you can pick between ocean-view and non-ocean-view rooms. The hotel has three restaurants, and the spa offers wonderful treatments, and has a sauna, jacuzzi and Turkish baths. The hotel also has excellent gym facilities, in addition to fitness classes, tennis, table tennis, and they can also arrange golfing on request.
The food in Lanzarote is a mix of typical Spanish food and international cuisines. There are plenty of options – fresh veggies, salads, grilled fish and meat, all sorts of tapas and rice dishes. We love to try out local restaurants and taste the typical Spanish dishes, you can eat and drink what you like, and we’ll try some nice Spanish wines with dinner. We’re also sensitive to people’s dietary needs and will make sure there are options for everyone.
We’ll have a large buffet breakfast together after yoga, with many options. Some people may have a light lunch or snack by the pool in the afternoon. We’ll plan a group dinner in town or on the promenade each evening for those who want to join.
